The system
How the whole machine works.
From a plain-language description to three finished, contractor-grade scopes, then to an expert-verified estimate and a job that actually gets built. Here is the system end to end, for people who like to read the drawings before they trust the building.
A description goes in. Documents come out.
Guided intake
You describe the project in plain language and answer one question at a time. Up to five photos of the space get analyzed for conditions that change the work. Nothing assumes you know construction vocabulary.
Inputs: address · dimensions · timeline · budget · site access · photos
Trade classification
Your description is read against a knowledge base of construction subtrades, so a kitchen job might classify as cabinetry plus electrical plus plumbing. The follow-up questions come from that result, and every answer option carries a real cost implication.
100+ subtrades · primary and secondary · trade-specific follow-ups
Three scopes, generated in the background
The Standard scope is built first and sets the baseline. DIY and Upgrade follow, each held to hard rules, and the differences between tiers are written into the specifications rather than multiplied onto one number.
DIY: 40 to 60% below Standard · Upgrade: premium spec, master-craftsman rates
Cost math, rebuilt rather than trusted
Every total is recomputed from the itemized lines. Currency and labor rates resolve from your region, and any tier that drifts outside its band gets rescaled with permits held fixed.
Materials + labor + permits + contingency + overhead & profit
Export, share, decide
All three scopes stay side by side while you decide. Download any tier as a branded PDF, or send contractors a read-only link that needs no account, then log the actual cost once the dust settles.

What the scopes already know.
The output is only as good as what feeds it. Six systems run before and during every generation:
Location and climate
Your address resolves to a climate zone, regional material picks, seasonal cost factors, currency, and local labor baselines. A roof in Calgary is not a roof in Austin.
Trade-specific questioning
Tile work gets tile questions. A service-panel upgrade gets electrical ones. The scope is built from the details that actually move cost.
Photo analysis
Site photos are read for existing conditions, visible damage, and materials, then folded into the project knowledge base before generation starts.
Confidence scoring
Every scope carries a score from 0 to 100 with its reasoning: what strengthens the estimate, what weakens it, what is still missing. A gap-filling flow can regenerate all three scopes with better inputs.
Timeline intelligence
Start dates get checked against holidays and seasonal windows for your region, so the schedule is a plan rather than a guess.
Tier-true specifications
A specification framework enforces material grades, dimensions, and code references per tier. Upgrade means better spec, documented line by line.
One number anchors you. A range frees you.
One quote is a blindfold.
When one contractor hands you one figure, you have nothing to weigh it against. Is it high? Padded? Missing half the job? Put a DIY build, a Standard build, and an Upgrade for the same project on one sheet and the fog lifts. You can see where any bid sits inside the real range.
The gap between tiers is information.
Compare the material lines and you can read exactly what another twenty thousand dollars buys: cabinet construction, counter material, labor hours. "Should we upgrade?" stops being a feeling and becomes a line-item decision.
DIY, with open eyes.
The DIY scope prices your materials with waste factors, keeps licensed trades where code demands them, and ships with safety warnings, a tool list, and step-by-step instructions. If you take it on, you know exactly what you signed up for.
The scope is the start, not the finish.

Why we built it this way
Construction pricing has run on information asymmetry for a century. Lump sums, vague allowances, and a quiet assumption that the person paying shouldn't look too closely. We think whoever pays for the work deserves to understand it as well as whoever sells it.
So every AXTruo scope is itemized to the line. The math gets recomputed instead of asserted. Fair pay for skilled trades is built into our labor rates because a number that shortchanges the crew was never accurate in the first place. Transparency isn't the pitch here. It's the foundation the rest stands on.
