The basicsG-201

The basics

1.1

What is AXTruo?

AXTruo turns a plain-language description of a construction or renovation project into three complete, contractor-grade scopes of work: a DIY version, a Standard build, and an Upgrade. Each one is itemized line by line and priced for your address, so you can see the full range of ways to do the job before you talk to anyone about it.

1.2

What is a scope of work in construction?

A scope of work is the document that states exactly what will be built, with what materials, to what standard, on what schedule. It is the difference between "new kitchen, $30,000" and a page that names the cabinet construction, the counter material and thickness, the tile size and underlay, the labor hours, the permits, and the contingency. Contractors bid against a scope. Without one, every bid you receive is describing a slightly different project.

1.3

How much does AXTruo cost?

Generating all three scopes of work is free. You create an account, describe your project, and export the finished documents at no charge. The one paid item is optional: a licensed expert can review a finished scope before you commit to it, and that price is shown at checkout.

1.4

How long does it take to get a scope of work?

About ten minutes of your attention. You describe the project, answer a short run of guided questions, and add photos if you have them. Generation then runs in the background and takes a few minutes, so you can close the tab and come back to it.

The three scopes

What is the difference between the DIY, Standard and Upgrade scopes?

They are three genuinely different builds of the same project, not one number multiplied by three. DIY prices your materials with waste factors, keeps licensed trades wherever code requires them, and ships with safety notes, a tool list, and step-by-step instructions. Standard is a professional crew at mid-grade specification, and it sets the baseline. Upgrade is premium material specification at master-craftsman labor rates. The differences are written into the specifications, so you can read exactly what the extra money buys.

Why three scopes instead of one estimate?

A single quote is one contractor's opinion with the reasoning removed, and you have nothing to weigh it against. Three scopes on one sheet give you a range, and the gap between the tiers tells you what each step up actually costs. When a bid arrives, you can see where it sits inside that range and which line items explain the difference.

Accuracy and trustG-203

Accuracy and trust

3.1

How accurate are the cost estimates?

The generated scopes are planning-stage estimates with a cost range. Every total is recomputed from the itemized lines rather than taken from the model, and labor rates, currency and material choices resolve from your region rather than a national average. Each scope carries a confidence score from 0 to 100 with its reasoning attached, so you are told how firm the number is instead of having to guess. That is enough to understand the project, compare the options and set a budget. It is not a signed contract price, and when you need one that firm, an Expert Review is the step that gets you there.

3.2

Is this just an AI guess, or is a real person involved?

Both, at different stages. The instant scopes are generated, and they are genuinely detailed: itemized materials, labor, permits, contingency and margin, in three tiers. When you want the number to be firm, an Expert Review puts a real construction professional over the scope. They correct the assumptions and reprice it against what the work would actually cost to deliver, which is what turns a planning range into a near-exact estimate.

3.3

Why is an Expert Review more exact than the free estimate?

Because it is priced against real delivery. The review is done by the same operation that would carry the project out through its own trade network, so the figure is what we would stand behind to actually do the work rather than a detached opinion on someone else's estimate. People are usually told that only a contractor on site can give a real number. The Expert Review is that number, reached without spending three weeks collecting site visits.

3.4

What is the confidence score?

A score from 0 to 100 that states how firm an estimate is, along with what strengthens it, what weakens it, and what is still unknown. If the score is lower than you would like, a guided flow asks for the specific details that would raise it and regenerates all three scopes with the better inputs.

3.5

What does the expert review add?

A licensed construction professional reads your finished scope, validates the assumptions and pricing, and flags what is worth negotiating before you sign anything. It is optional, and the price is shown at checkout.

Using your scopeG-204

Using your scope

4.1

Can AXTruo actually get the project built, or does it stop at the document?

We can get it built. Alongside the platform we run a marketplace that we coordinate by hand: we connect you with vetted tradespeople and materials from our own trade network and stay with the project through to completion. It is deliberately hands-on rather than an automated, self-serve marketplace. One project has already gone the whole distance, scoped in AXTruo, approved by the client, and built through us.

4.2

Can I give the scope of work to my contractor?

That is what it is built for. Export any tier as a branded PDF, or send a read-only link that a contractor can open without creating an account. When several contractors bid against the same document, you are comparing like with like for the first time.

4.3

Do I need construction experience to use it?

No. You describe the project the way you would describe it to a friend, and the questions come to you one at a time in plain language. Nothing assumes you know construction vocabulary. The output is written in trade-standard terms because that is what a contractor needs to read, but the questions never require it.

4.4

What do I need before I start?

The project address, a rough sense of the dimensions, and two or three sentences about what you want done. Photos of the space help and you can add up to five, since they are analyzed for existing conditions that change the work. Everything else is optional and the questions will tell you when something matters.

CoverageG-205

Coverage

Does the pricing change depending on where my project is?

Yes. Your address resolves to a climate zone, regional material choices, seasonal cost factors, currency, and local labor baselines, and the scopes are priced against those rather than a national average. A roof in Calgary is not a roof in Austin.

Who is AXTruo for?

Homeowners, property managers, developers, facilities teams, and contractors. Anyone who has to understand a construction number before approving it.
